Hi, my name is Hinne van der Zant and I am a Ph.D. student at the LIENSs Institute of La Rochelle University. I have an MSc degree in Marine Sciences at Utrecht University. I am interested in all types of multidisciplinary (ocean) science and now mostly work on modeling sediment-water exchange in coastal environments. Besides my Ph.D. work, I work at the Dutch Marine Energy Centre, where I model all types of things related to marine energy and complementary to other offshore renewables. I have previously worked with Olivier on the diffusive pathways of solutes traveling through the diffusive boundary layer under the influence of internal tidal flow and also implemented a RADI-based metamodel that parametrizes sediment-water exchange to NASA’s ECCO-Darwin model. In my spare time, I worked as a kitesurf instructor and enjoy all kinds of (aquatic) sports in general.
